Our one-on-one lung cancer program provides personalized support with a healthcare professional for people living with lung cancer. This service is tailored to meet the specific needs of each person, offering information, navigation and guidance throughout their lung cancer journey. This support service focuses on coping strategies to improve overall well-being and quality of life. By creating a safe and confidential space, these interactions empower individuals to better manage their condition and navigate challenges effectively.
One-on-One Support Services Include:
- Individual support sessions for people living with lung cancer or caring for someone with lung cancer.
- Education about the condition and symptom management.
- Coping strategies for managing fear, anxiety and stress.
- Guidance in navigating healthcare systems and accessing resources.
- Information about clinical trials (when available).
- Longer term/survivorship planning.

Who is this program for?
To participate in our program, you must be diagnosed with lung cancer and currently reside in Canada. Services are delivered in English. If you are unsure if this program is right for you, we encourage you to reach out to our team for guidance.
How do I register?
You can register online using the registration button above. Alternatively, you can contact the Lung Health Foundation for information and assistance with registration.
What information will you collect from me at registration?
To register, you will need to provide your name, phone number, email address, and address. If you do not have an email address, please call Lung Health Foundation at 1-888-344-LUNG to be connected to our navigator.
What can I expect once I register?
Following registration, a member of the Lung Health Foundation team will contact you via email or the phone and carry-out an intake assessment to learn more about your needs.
What is the intake assessment?
The intake assessment helps us understand your needs better and tailor our support. The assessment will cover:
- Your care journey
- Symptoms you are experiencing
- Things that could make your condition more challenging to manage
- Your baseline knowledge of your lung condition
- Your current self-management behaviours and lifestyle
- Your participation in other programs and community resources
How is my information stored?
Confidentially. We will not record calls. Details of each session will be kept completely confidential and in a safe and secure manner. Only the providers, who are health professionals, will have access to this information. The providers may disclose confidential individual information in the extenuating circumstance in which they have reason to believe there is an imminent risk of harm.
Who are the program providers?
They are experienced health professionals – they have been providing care and services to people living with lung conditions for years.
